Wabag bags $11.45 mn order for effluent treatment plant in Malaysia

On Monday, Indian pure-play water technology Multinational group, Va Tech Wabag, declared that it had obtained an order worth $11.45 million from Dialog E&C Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, for installing a new Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for Pengerang Integrated Complex in Johor, Malaysia. The firm told the media it will be built for PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd (PRPC UF), a subsidiary of Petronas Refinery & Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC).

S&M Head, India Cluster of Va Tech Wabag, S Natrajan told the media that the order was obtained based on their technological pre-qualifications with PETRONAS. This order further strengthens their position as a pure-play water technology firm in the Oil & Gas segment and South-East Asian market.

Va Tech Wabag will be the technology vendor and render design, engineering, acquisition and supervision activities for the offered ETP. Wabag will design the ETP, including two-stage biological treatment, ammonia stripper, advanced oxidation process, and drier facility for sludge treatment. Wabag was amongst the few technology partners permitted by PRPC for this project, based on its global reference in the oil and gas segment. Wabag has earlier implemented a $200 million state-of-the-art integrated ETP for Pengerang Integrated Complex, which guarantees a decline of contaminants below regulatory discharge requirements.
