Waaree Energies secures 600-MW solar module contract
Waaree Energies, a leading Indian solar module manufacturer, announced that it has secured a 600-megawatt (MW) module supply contract from a renewable energy company. As stated in the official press release, the delivery of these modules is slated to commence in the financial year 2026.
Amit Paithankar, Chief Executive Officer of Waaree Energies, remarked that the project symbolised more than just the delivery of megawatts, representing instead a significant milestone in India's journey towards energy self-reliance and sustainability. He added that as preparations for delivery in FY26 proceed, the company remains committed to providing world-class solar solutions to facilitate clean energy transitions, minimise carbon footprints, and drive economic growth.
Waaree Energies, recognised as a prominent player in India’s solar energy sector, specialises in photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing with a cumulative installed capacity of 12 GW as of 30 June 2023. The company operates five manufacturing facilities: one each in Surat, Tumb, Nandigram, and Chikhli in Gujarat, and another at the IndoSolar Facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
