Uttarakhand's largest mall opens in Dehradun


Mall of Dehradun, the state's largest mall, opened in the state capital on Saturday. The mall covers a total built-up area of 1,071,008 sq ft, including 402,895 sq ft of retail space.

Abhishek Bansal, executive director of Pacific Group, which led the project, stated that Mall of Dehradun represents a significant milestone for the company. He noted that the mall showcases the state's vibrant culture, delectable cuisine, tourism opportunities, and serene environment through murals and architectural elements. Additionally, Bansal mentioned that Uttarakhand's local food has been given prominence in the food court.

A statement from the developers indicated that the mall is a 'green building with LEED certification' and incorporates energy-efficient materials, including a 600-kilowatt solar photovoltaic plant and sustainable water and waste management systems.

The launch ceremony featured various cultural performances and the unveiling of the Pride Wall, a 3D art installation celebrating Uttarakhand's traditional cuisine, cultural performances, landscapes, and modern and historic landmarks. The event concluded with a performance by folk singer Priyanka Meher.
