Uttar Pradesh floats tender to set up 200 MW solar projects

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has invited fresh bids to establish solar projects of 200 MW in the Uttar Pradesh solar park and the ceiling tariff for the tender has been fixed as Rs 3 per kWh.

The solar projects will be established in Jalaun district's three places and Kanpur Dehat in the states' solar park. The last date for bid submission is 4th October 2021, and bids will be started on October 5.

For solar power developers, UPNEDA had invited a request for selection (RfS) to set up grid-connected solar power projects in the solar park of 275 MW earlier.

REC Power Distribution Company (RECPDCL) later had issued a notice requesting tender from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors to establish solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects of 125 MW at Uttar Pradesh's two locations.

UPNEDA officials said that UPNEDA had floated a 270 MW tender, out of which 200 MW was auctioned earlier. In that, 125 MW was granted to RECPDCL and 75 MW to SJVN. Later, RECPDCL floated a 125 MW EPC tender. UPNEDA has canceled the RECPDCL tender of 125 MW and issued a new tender for 200 MW capacity. SJVN has already begun the construction, and land has been allotted to them.

The maximum number of projects to be allotted to a bidder will be five projects. The project should be finished within 15 months from the power purchase agreement (PPA) effective date.

The successful bidder of the project will have to provide Rs 1.05 million per MW within 30 days of issuing the letter of intent (LoI) as the performance bank guarantee. The successful bidder for the projects chosen based on this RfS is needed to ink PPA with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited within 30 days after the LoI issuance.
