UPNEDA's 500 MW Rooftop Solar Auction Winners Include Lords, NRGY 6

In Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) recently announced the winners of its auction to install 500 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government and semi-government buildings, as well as other institutions. The projects will operate under the RESCO model with net metering.

It was revealed that Kosuke Service, NRGY 6, Lords Mark Industries, KLK Ventures, G P Edible Foods, HFM Solar, and OMC Power emerged as the successful bidders. The auction was segmented into two categories based on project size. Category 1, covering projects from 25 kW to 200 kW, secured a tariff of ?4.9 (~$0.0587)/kWh. Meanwhile, Category 2, encompassing projects from 200 kW to 2,000 kW, achieved a tariff of ?4.85 (~$0.0581)/kWh.

UPNEDA stipulated that each project must fall within the 25 kW to 2,000 kW range, with the flexibility to comprise multiple rooftop units, each independently connected to the grid and potentially equipped with individual meters. However, only one project per consumer meter number is allowed, with a maximum project size limit of 2,000 kW.
