UltraTech Cement expands grinding capacity by 1.2 mtpa


UltraTech Cement has announced the commissioning of an additional 1.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) grinding capacity at its existing facility in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu. This expansion is part of the larger 22.6 mtpa capacity increase that was announced in June 2022. With this addition, UltraTech's total cement capacity now stands at 156.06 mtpa.

As the flagship cement company of the Aditya Birla Group, UltraTech Cement is the third-largest cement producer globally, outside of China, with a consolidated Grey Cement capacity of 154.86 mtpa.

In its Q1 FY25 results, UltraTech reported a marginal increase in consolidated net profit to ?1,696.59 crore, up from ?1,688.45 crore in Q1 FY24. Revenue from operations also saw a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) rise of 1.87%, reaching ?18,069.56 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2024.

On October 17, 2024, the company's stock price decreased by 0.71%, closing at ?11,324.40.
