UDD initiates Dimapur road repairs

The Urban Development Department (UDD) conducted repair works on potholes in Dimapur city as part of its vision to facilitate planned development. The department, which had started the repair work in September, had already covered several areas including Half Nagarjan traffic point, Flyover stretch, and Khermahal stretch up to Hotel Tragopan Hotel.

According to an official from UDD, they stated to Nagaland Post that the department was planning to launch phase-II soon, as they had identified a few damaged culverts at Half Nagarjan traffic point. Workers were observed repairing potholes in the early hours of Monday.

They were scheduled to move on to Tajen Ao Road and the Notun Basti area up to the DC court charali junction. An engineer explained that as part of the maintenance initiative, the department had submitted an emergency maintenance plan to the state government, proposing an amount of Rs 1.5-2 million.

He mentioned that the department had recently issued a work order under special assistance (FY 23-24), which would cover areas like West Yard, DMC office area road stretch, and Deluxe Point (Bata Charali line). The engineer further informed that the road stretch from Flyover to Deluxe Point would be blacktopped after the monsoon season. Additionally, the MP Road and Hazi Park area would also be covered under the special assistance proposal. The repair of potholes was expected to be completed by the end of October.
