THDC India commences commercial operations at MP's Amelia coal block


According to R K Vishnoi, CMD, THDC India, a state-owned company, has started coal supply operations from its Amelia coal block in Madhya Pradesh. In a statement, Vishnoi mentioned that the commercial operations of the block have commenced six months ahead of schedule.

He stated, "The first dispatch load of coal, excavated from the mines, has been transported to the Railway siding in the Amelia coal mine project of THDCIL."

The mine holds reserves of 162.05 MT, including an extractable coal reserve of 139.48 MT, and it caters to the fuel requirements of the 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

THDC India, based in Uttarakhand, operates in the power sector and is involved in hydro, wind, solar, thermal, and other forms of energy.
