The Telangana Power Generation Corporation (TGGENCO) has invited bids to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for solar projects with a combined capacity of 56 MW. The bid submission deadline is March 21, 2025, with openings scheduled on the same day. The estimated contract value is Rs 1.3 million. 

Bidders must provide a transaction fee of 0.03% of the contract value, capped at Rs 10,000 for works up to Rs 500 million, and Rs 25,000 for projects exceeding that amount. They must also submit a 2.5% security deposit, an earnest money deposit of Rs 6,480, and a fixed deposit of Rs 250,000. Additionally, successful bidders must contribute a 0.04% corpus fund of the contract value, with similar caps applied. 

The project scope includes a 15 MW floating solar plant at Yadadri Thermal Power Station, a 28 MW ground-mounted solar project at Kakatiya Thermal Power Project, and a 13 MW floating solar plant on the Kakatiya Thermal Project’s raw water reservoir. 

Eligible bidders must have prior consultancy experience in feasibility studies and DPR preparation, with a track record of executing at least one floating solar and one ground-mounted solar project in India over the past five financial years. A minimum annual turnover of Rs 388,800 for two of the last three years is also required.

 

Last month, Telangana finalised its renewable energy policy for 2025, targeting 20,000 MW of renewable energy and storage capacity by 2030. In 2024, the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana issued tenders for 3 MW ground-mounted solar projects in Karimnagar and Sircilla, set for completion within six months.
