TDI Group Gets Show Cause Notices for Illegal Land Sales in Haryana
TDI Group, a major player in the real estate sector with several joint ventures, has been served show-cause notices by Haryana's town planning authorities for violations related to illegal land sales at its township project in Panipat. The allegations include the illegal sale of undetermined lands (UD lands) and green spaces, such as parks, within the township, which goes against town planning guidelines.
These violations came to light after a local activist group, led by Jogender Swami, raised concerns about the illegal land transactions. Swami has lodged complaints with the state’s anti-corruption bureau, claiming that the sales not only bypassed regulations but also resulted in significant financial loss to the state. The lands were allegedly sold at undervalued prices, evading duties like stamp duty, further compounding the financial impact.
In response, TDI Group has announced that it is investigating the involvement of employees who may have facilitated the illegal sales. The company has already canceled several disputed sale deeds and filed complaints with the police. TDI’s Chairman, Ravinder Taneja, assured that strict action would be taken against the responsible individuals and emphasized that the company is committed to adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
