TCS Expands in Kochi with Rs 6.9 Billion Investment
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is setting up a 37-acre campus at the Kinfra Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Kochi, investing Rs 6.9 billion in the project. The new campus will focus on electronics R&D and IT services, generating around 10,000 jobs.
To meet its immediate need for 5,000 seats, TCS is also seeking office space at InfoPark in Kochi. The Kerala government is assisting in securing additional space across tech parks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode.
The government is also expanding the Smart City project in Kakkanad to accommodate more IT firms. Discussions are underway to acquire land for the expansion of a cyberpark in Kozhikode, catering to growing investor demand.
TCS already has a significant presence in Kerala, including a major development center at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The company also operates the world’s largest corporate learning and development center in Thiruvananthapuram, which spans 97 acres and trains 50,000 IT professionals annually.
The Kinfra Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Kochi, strategically located near Cochin International Airport and Cochin Port, supports high-quality electronics manufacturing. This expansion reinforces Kerala’s growing position as a key IT and electronics hub.
