Tata Power-DDL, Probus Unveil Smart Metering Tech
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) has partnered with Probus Smart Things to revolutionize smart metering technology with a universal Network Interface Card (NIC) featuring Bluetooth-enabled communication.
As part of this collaboration, the two companies will jointly develop innovative applications to enhance smart metering and will file joint patents for their advancements.
"This initiative aligns with Tata Power-DDL's vision of providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable solutions for our consumers," said Gajanan S Kale, CEO of Tata Power-DDL.
The Universal NIC is designed to improve connectivity, enabling meter data collection and operations like reconnection and disconnection, even in areas with weak primary networks. It seamlessly integrates with Tata Power-DDL's consumer mobile applications and meter reading systems, enhancing the user experience.
"By working closely with Tata Power-DDL, we aim to set a new standard in smart metering technology," said Anand Singh, Founder & CEO of Probus Smart Things.
Initially, the advanced NIC will be deployed within Tata Power-DDL’s operations, with plans to expand its benefits to other utilities and regions.
Tata Power-DDL, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Delhi government, serves around 9 million residents in North Delhi.
