Tamil Nadu CM Launches 19 New Water Projects


Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated 19 projects implemented by the water resources department in eight districts across Tamil Nadu, which included three check dams in the Coimbatore and Tirupur districts. The projects, completed at a cost of Rs 890 million, were inaugurated via videoconferencing from Chennai in the presence of Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan.

Among the significant projects were two check dams located across the Amaravathy River at Kavundayanvalasu village and Mambadi-Punganthurai village, both situated near Dharapuram. The check dam at Kavundayanvalasu village was established at a cost of Rs 110.5 million. Additionally, in Coimbatore, Stalin inaugurated a check dam across the Kothavadi stream at Vadakkipalayam, near Pollachi.
