SN Subrahmanyan: From train to temple

SN Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), helms the company which worked and is working on a series of vastly diverse, transformative projects such as the iconic Ram Mandir, India’s longest sea bridge (the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link or MTHL), Mumbai’s Coastal Road project, the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Bullet train project and its high-speed electrification system. L&T has secured the largest single railway electrification project order ever placed in India. It is a first-of-its-kind project for India involving implementation of Japanese Shinkansen high speed electrification technology, which upon completion, will enable trains to travel at speeds up to 320 kmph. The experience and technology transfer from this project will help L&T in developing credentials for such future high-speed rail projects in India and abroad.
