Silvassa Smart City: NEC Corporation India to implement ICCC project


NEC Corporation India (NEC India), a wholly-owned arm of Japan-based NEC Corporation, told the media that they have agreed with Silvassa Smart City Limited for the execution of a smart city Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) project.

This is an ambitious project strived at changing the lives of the residents of Silvassa and improving their access to public services, utilities, and more significantly, assuring their safety and security. The project was established in May 2022 and is planned to be finished within a year.

NEC has already successfully executed similar smart city projects in Hubballi Dharwad, Kalyan Dombivli, Ahmedabad, Surat, and many other cities.

CEO of Silvassa Smart City Limited, Charmie Parekh, told the media that NEC India's expertise and long-standing knowledge in innovating cutting-edge technology solutions across different industries is well known. The firm has already witnessed them contribute to different Indian and global smart city projects, and the effect of their public safety features has formed safer and smarter spaces. The company endeavours to make Silvassa one of the most fortunate cities in India, and this smart city project will support bringing our vision within reach.

As one of the most significant manufacturing hubs in western India, Silvassa has expanded rapidly and has witnessed an influx of talent from across India. The smart city project will enable convenience in accessing public services and civic amenities, helping efficient traffic control and management, public safety, and supporting the city's preparedness for natural disasters.

President, and CEO of NEC Corporation India, Aalok Kumar, told the media that NEC has positively affected the lives of the people of India by making society and communities smarter, more inclusive, and safer for over 70 years. The company is proud to have been assigned this project by the central government and Silvassa Smart City Limited.
