Sikkim chief minister discusses infrastructure projects with JICA


Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang held crucial talks with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to discuss ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in the state. The JICA team, led by Sunouchi Tatsuhiko, senior director of South Asia Division 1, provided updates on key infrastructure initiatives. The state’s roads and bridges department submitted a Preliminary Project Report (PPR) to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India, seeking approval for the upgrade of four roads and a bridge. Both sides discussed the potential benefits of these projects and JICA’s expertise in ensuring their successful implementation, with a focus on eco-friendly designs to support the local community.
