SECL Tenders 1.5 MW Floating Solar Project in MP

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has launched a tender for a 1.5 MW grid-connected floating solar power project at the Sharda Open Cast (OC) mine in Sohagpur, Madhya Pradesh. The project, estimated at ?13.39 billion (~$160.25 million), includes design, engineering, construction, fabrication, erection, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, civil, structural, and electrical works, as well as evacuation arrangements.

The successful bidder will also undertake operation and maintenance responsibilities for ten years following project completion within an 11-year contract period. Bids, inclusive of a ?1.67 million (~$20,005) earnest money deposit, are due by August 10, 2024, with the bid opening scheduled for August 12. Joint ventures (JV) or consortiums are eligible to participate.

Bidders must demonstrate experience in completing similar works over the past seven years, including specific financial turnovers. SECL's initiative aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance renewable energy capacity, complementing its recent tender for a 5 MWac/6.75 MWdc ground-mounted solar project at Vivek Nagar Mines, also in Sohagpur.
