SECI, MP Govt Ink Pact for 200 MW Solar Project in Dhar


The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a Navratna CPSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, has signed an MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to set up a 200 MW solar project in Dhar and a 1000 MWh battery storage project. The agreement was formalised during the Global Investors Summit 2025, held in Bhopal on February 24-25. 

The summit was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel and Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav. The MoU was signed by SECI Director (Power Systems) Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma and Additional Chief Secretary (NRE) Shri Manu Srivastava, IAS, with the state’s Minister of New & Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla and SECI CMD Shri R P Gupta also present. 

The 200 MW solar project is part of a 500 MW agreement signed in 2023 with MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for a 25-year power supply. SECI plans a phased capital investment of Rs 25 billion to boost renewable energy development in Madhya Pradesh. 

The summit saw participation from key government stakeholders and representatives from various states and countries.
