Rs 2 billion dealt for water supply and drainage in Prayagraj wards
The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation has approved a Rs 2 billion budget to improve drinking water supply, roads, and drainage systems in the city's newly expanded wards under the Chief Minister Nagar Srijan Yojana. In the first phase, the plan focuses on reboring hand pumps and tube wells, alongside road and drainage construction.
Detailed proposals for these works have been approved by the Municipal Corporation, and construction is expected to begin soon, according to Municipal Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg. Additionally, funds have been allocated to build intake wells near Naini, Jhunsi, and Jhalwa to extract, treat, and supply water to households. Twelve new tube wells and pipelines will be installed as part of the project, with tenders already completed.
In a separate decision, the design for a new Shivalaya Thematic Park in Arail has been approved. Spanning 11.5 acres and costing Rs 250 million, the park will feature replicas of 23 major Lord Shiva temples, along with attractions like a light show, boating, a food court, and a herbal garden. The park is expected to be completed before the Maha Kumbh festival. (TOI)
