Rs 175.8 Bn Invested Under PLI Scheme for Specialty Steel


As of October 2024, companies have invested Rs 175.8 billion (bn) under the PLI scheme for specialty steel, contributing to the goal of reducing imports and boosting domestic production. The scheme has also created over 8,660 jobs, with a total investment commitment of Rs 271.06 bn. Despite challenges like supply chain delays and geopolitical factors, the government is taking steps to expedite project clearances and address concerns to meet the sector's targets.
