Rourkela Smart City Projects Put on Fast Track
The 28th Board of Directors meeting of Rourkela Smart City Ltd. (RSC Ltd.) was held recently, chaired by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, with key officials such as Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, and Sundargarh District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan in attendance.
The Board reviewed the progress of ongoing projects, addressed challenges, and discussed operational maintenance and revenue generation strategies. Notable developments included a call for increased effort from M/s BEL to ensure the timely completion of the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) project.
The meeting also highlighted progress on the ‘Rourkela One’ project, particularly in the construction of the City Command Center (CCC) and the Tribal Museum. Discussions centred around the soft components of the Tribal Museum, such as the development of Tribal Huts, artifacts, and shrine crafts. Updates on other initiatives, such as the Big Recreation Park and Vedvyas Heritage Development, were also discussed.
This meeting demonstrates Rourkela’s commitment to advancing urban development and enhancing the quality of life for its residents through its Smart City initiatives.
