Rolls-Royce to Double Supply Chain Sourcing from India
Aerospace giant Rolls-Royce announced plans to double its supply chain sourcing from India over the next five years as part of its strategy to expand in the defence and aerospace sectors. The company aims to increase procurement of complex parts for aerospace engines, naval propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gas turbines.
Currently, Rolls-Royce sources high-precision engine components from Indian suppliers for its civil aerospace, defence, and power systems businesses. While the company did not disclose the total value of these procurements, it emphasised its role in helping Indian manufacturers meet international quality standards.
Alex Zino, EVP for Business Development and Future Programs at Rolls-Royce Defence, highlighted India’s significance in the company’s long-term strategy. Rolls-Royce is committed to supporting India’s armed forces and is keen on collaborating on advanced combat engine technologies. The company also has a joint venture with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and has played a key role in technology transfers for licensed defence engine production.
