Ranchi Civic Body Prepares Urban Redevelopment Plan for the City
The municipal corporation has unveiled an ambitious urban redevelopment plan for the new year, with a focus on road repairs, decongestion, and cleanliness.
Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, RMC, emphasised that the development and cleanliness of Ranchi would be the top priority, with all efforts to be executed within deadlines.
Key initiatives include a comprehensive physical survey of roads across all 53 city wards. Teams consisting of junior engineers, assistant engineers, ward supervisors, and managers will assess the condition of the roads and categorise them as "Good," "Average," "Poor," or "Very Poor." Based on these classifications, action plans will be created. Kumar mentioned that the goal is to ensure thorough road improvements to meet the city's growing needs.
A detailed report on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems will be compiled within three days and submitted to the state government for guidance. Major intersections and public areas, including parks and monuments, will also undergo maintenance, with a special focus on cleanliness initiatives. Town planner Ram Badan Singh stated that clean public spaces not only enhance the city's aesthetics but also improve the quality of life for residents.
In addition to addressing traffic congestion and encroachments, RMC will launch a campaign to enforce strict measures against violators.
Special cleanliness drives will also target main roads, neighbourhoods, parks, and picnic spots.
