Raj Bhavan Approves Land Transfer for Pune Metro Line 3

The Raj Bhavan office has approved the transfer of 263.78 square metres of land from the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) side for the construction of a staircase for the Maan-Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar metro line 3. This approval, following a proposal submitted by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in November 2022, ensures the PMRDA now has 100% of the land required for the project, with 99.94% already provided to the Metro Concessionaire Company. The 23.20 km-long metro line 3, being developed on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis, received government approval on February 9, 2018. The PMRDA subsequently signed a concession agreement with Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd. As of now, 83% of the project work is complete, marking significant progress toward enhancing Pune’s urban transport infrastructure. (HT)
