Railway stations in Prayagraj undergo major passenger facility expansion

The Railway Board Chairman and CEO, Satish Kumar, conducted an extensive inspection on Saturday alongside the General Manager of Northern Railway and the officiating General Manager of North Central Railway. Their visit focused on various ongoing projects at multiple stations across the Northern and North Central Railway zones, with particular attention to enhancing facilities for the upcoming Maha Kumbh.

During the inspection, Chairman Kumar reviewed the construction of a vital bridge over the River Ganga, specifically between Jhunsi and Prayagraj Rambagh. This bridge is expected to significantly ease the flow of devotees during the Maha Kumbh, which attracts millions of pilgrims from across the country and beyond. Kumar emphasized the importance of completing development works to ensure the safety and convenience of all passengers.

As part of the preparations for the Maha Kumbh, the Chairman also assessed various passenger facility expansion initiatives underway at several key stations, including Phaphamau, Prayag, Prayagraj Junction, Chheoki, Naini, and Subedarganj. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far but insisted on strict adherence to timelines and quality standards for the remaining work. The expansion efforts are part of a broader initiative to accommodate the influx of visitors during the religious event, which is expected to begin shortly.

Kumar’s visit underscored the Railway Board's commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring that all passengers have access to safe and modern facilities. He urged project teams to maintain a high standard of work and emphasized the importance of collaboration among various departments to achieve these goals efficiently.
