Railway Expansion: 49 New Tunnels Planned for K-K Line Doubling

As part of an ambitious project aimed at enhancing the railway infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, the Waltair Divisional Railway Manager, Saurabh Prasad, has announced plans for the construction of 49 new tunnels. These tunnels will be a pivotal component of the K-K Line doubling project, which aims to strengthen the rail connectivity in the region.
The K-K Line, a crucial railway route in Visakhapatnam, connects key destinations and plays a vital role in both passenger and freight transportation. With the addition of these tunnels, the rail network is set to witness significant improvements in terms of efficiency and capacity.
The expansion project aligns with the broader goals of modernising India's railway infrastructure and facilitating smoother and faster train movements. It will not only boost connectivity within Visakhapatnam but also contribute to the national rail network's overall development.
