Rahee Infratech starts Mumbai Metro Line-9 track work at Miragaon

Rahee Infratech commenced ballastless track casting for Mumbai Metro's 11.38 km Line-9, a significant step in the project that will link Dahisar East and Mira Bhayandar with eight elevated stations. The standard gauge rails of 1435 mm, part of Package CA-167, will be installed by Rahee on the northern extension of the city's new 31.05 km Red Line. This line will eventually connect Mira Bhayandar, Dahisar East, Andheri East, and CSMIA Terminal 2 through 23 stations. The elevated section of Line-9 is being constructed by J Kumar Infraprojects under civil Package CA-48, a project that began in March 2020. The first U-girder for the viaduct, which includes several double-decker sections, was launched in April 2021. In March 2024, Rahee was awarded the Rs 778.5 million track-work contract for Line-9 by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), with a completion deadline of 1.5 years. Additionally, Leena Powertech Engineers was declared the lowest bidder for Line-7A and Line-9's electrification contract (CA-176) in July. However, it's expected to be another 2.5 years before both extensions of the Red Line are operational. (Metrorailguy)
