Radisson Hotel Group's debut in West Bengal

The Radisson Group of Hotels announced that it had signed its first hotel in West Bengal, the Radisson Hotel Siliguri, in collaboration with the SBM Group. According to a release by the group, the hotel is anticipated to become operational by the second quarter of 2028.

It was mentioned that the hotel would be situated in proximity to the Bagdogra International Airport, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, and Siliguri Junction, facilitating connectivity for both intercity and intracity travellers. Additionally, it was noted that the hotel's location would make nearby northeastern cities like Darjeeling and Dooras more accessible, as well as offering access to neighboring countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan.

Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Area Senior Vice President of South Asia for the Radisson Hotel Group, expressed that the eastern region of India harbors significant potential for the hospitality industry due to its natural beauty and industrial resources. He further stated that the signing of the Radisson Hotel Siliguri aligns with the group's strategic focus on expanding its presence in the region, aiming to enhance the experience of guests and partners. Sharma added that they are enthusiastic about this opportunity and are actively seeking suitable assets and partners to grow their portfolio in the area.

Upon its opening, the property is expected to feature 150 guest rooms and suites, along with amenities such as a fitness centre, swimming pool, and spa. The hotel will also offer multiple event spaces covering 18,000 square feet for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE events) as well as gatherings. Additionally, it will house an all-day dining venue, a bar, and a tea lounge.
