PWD receives Rs 1.5 billion for 408 km of rural road construction

The Public Works Department (PWD) has been allocated Rs 1.5 billion to develop approximately 408 kilometers of rural roads in alignment with the state Budget announcements. This funding will facilitate road construction in six assembly constituencies: Khinwsar, Deoli-Uniara, Jhunjhunu, Chaurasi, Malpura, and Tonk.

PWD Minister Diya Kumari emphasised the benefits of this initiative, stating, "Enhancing the rural road network will strengthen the rural economy by improving connectivity between villages and cities. This will enable farmers to access larger markets for their produce, securing better prices, and enhance their access to government services like healthcare and education."

Additionally, Rs 20 million has been approved for a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to upgrade the 62-kilometer stretch from Mandal Bhilwara and Haripura intersection to Devgarh in Rajsamand district into a four-lane road. The PWD will also prepare DPRs for various road projects, including the Ramganjmandi Ring Road, a semi-circular ring road in western Pratapgarh, and upgrades to the Kotda-Devla and Bharatpur-Alwar routes.

Furthermore, plans include widening the Kota-Kaithun-Dharnaoda road to connect with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Balapura junction and constructing a bypass at Bapawar-Sangod-Kaithun.
