Punjab Govt.: No NOC Needed for Land Deeds in

The Punjab government has affirmed that no NOC (no objection certificate) is necessary for registering deeds for the sale of land situated in the "abadi deh" areas.

In a recent directive, the Department of Revenue, Relief, and Resettlement addressed deputy commissioners across the state, highlighting instances where sub-registrars were demanding NOCs during land deed registrations, even within "Abadi deh" zones.

The department emphasized that "Abadi deh" areas are not part of planned urban zones, thereby exempting them from the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act. Consequently, the act's provisions, including the requirement for NOCs, do not apply to these areas.

This clarification aims to streamline land transactions and alleviate confusion among stakeholders regarding NOC prerequisites, particularly in regions designated as "Abadi deh."
