Pune Railway Station Faces Overcrowding

Due to the increase in population, the use of railways has also risen. As a result, Pune Railway Station is no longer sufficient to accommodate the growing number of passengers. This has led to several issues. In response, the administration is focusing on the expansion of Khadki and Hadapsar Railway Stations.

Funding approval has been granted, and work has already begun, providing some relief for passengers. However, the services at Pune Railway Station are not keeping pace with the increasing number of passengers, which has led to mounting pressure, with no sign of it stopping.

To address this, a new mega terminal will be built at Uruli Railway Station. Additionally, the development of Khadki and Hadapsar Railway Stations is underway to provide alternative options for passengers near the city. Officials from the Railway Department have also mentioned that the Pune-Ahilyanagar Railway Route proposal is a priority
