Premier Energies Shifts Solar Manufacturing Project to Andhra

Premier Energies Ltd, a prominent solar cell manufacturer, has decided to relocate its 4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility from Telangana to Naidupeta Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district, after revising its plans.

The company had initially proposed to establish both a 4 GW cell and a 4 GW module facility in Telangana but is now investing Rs 1,700 crore in Andhra Pradesh, where it will create around 2,000 jobs. The 4 GW Solar PV Topcon Module facility will remain in Telangana.

The relocation aims to enhance the company's backward integration strategy, positioning silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing facilities alongside solar PV cell operations. The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 269.71 acres of land for the project.
