PM Modi Reviews 8 Major Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 1 Trillion
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed eight major infrastructure projects with a total investment of over Rs 1 trillion, under the PRAGATI initiative. These projects aim to accelerate development and job creation across the country.
The projects include six metro systems, one road connectivity project, and one thermal power project across various states and union territories, as per the PMO statement.
This review, part of the 45th edition of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation), involves both central and state governments.
PM Modi highlighted the importance of timely project execution to avoid cost escalation and ensure benefits reach the public promptly.
Additionally, he addressed public grievances related to banking and insurance sectors, emphasizing not only quick resolution but also the quality of the process.
The Prime Minister suggested holding workshops to share best practices among cities implementing or planning metro projects. He also stressed the importance of timely rehabilitation for families affected by projects and the need for quality amenities at relocation sites.
The PM also reviewed the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, directing an enhancement in rooftop solar installations and vendor ecosystem development.
As of the 45th PRAGATI meeting, 363 projects worth Rs 19.12 lakh crore have been reviewed.
