PM Modi Opens Metro Phase IV, Lays Rithala-Kundli Foundation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension section of the Delhi Metro's Phase IV and laid the foundation stone for the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor.

This marks the first operational stretch of Phase IV, adding Krishna Park Extension station to the network, which now features 289 stations across 394.448 km. The extension is part of the Magenta Line, which spans 40 km and will further extend to RK Ashram Marg by 2026.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is constructing 86 km of new lines across five corridors under Phase IV. Current projects include Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg, Majlis Park-Maujpur, and Aerocity-Tughlakabad. Two additional corridors, Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block and Indraprastha-Inderlok, are in pre-tendering stages.

The first six-coach train for Phase IV arrived last November, undergoing mandatory testing at Mukundpur depot. Under the RS-17 contract, DMRC will receive 52 trains for key Phase IV corridors.

PM Modi also laid the foundation for the 26.5-km Rithala-Kundli corridor, featuring 21 stations. This project aims to benefit residents of Rohini, Bawana, and Kundli, enhancing connectivity in these areas.
