The Green Hydrogen Hub is the first project under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, being jointly developed by NGEL, the renewable energy arm of NTPC Ltd., and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP). The ambitious project includes the installation of 20 GW of renewable energy capacity, 1500 tonnes per day (TPD) of green hydrogen production, and 7500 TPD of green hydrogen derivatives such as green methanol, green urea, and sustainable aviation fuel.

The project is expected to generate ?1.85 trillion in investment and create significant employment opportunities in the region. It aligns with India's target to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030, marking a major step toward reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy solutions.

The virtual launch event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, and other dignitaries.

As part of its expansion plans, NGEL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government to develop 25 GW of renewable energy capacity and is actively exploring similar collaborations with other state governments to boost India’s renewable energy infrastructure.

This project is poised to place Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of India’s green energy revolution, creating jobs and driving innovation in the renewable energy sector. It is a crucial step in the nation’s efforts to meet global sustainability targets and transition to a cleaner, greener future.
