OYO to Invest £50 Million in UK, Expanding Premium Hotel Portfolio

Hospitality firm OYO announced plans to invest £50 million in the UK over the next three years, aiming to expand its premium hotel portfolio and create over 1,000 jobs. The company is in advanced discussions with multiple hotel chains and real estate firms for potential asset management deals.

Since entering the UK market in 2018, OYO has built a presence with over 200 hotels across 65 cities, focusing primarily on budget accommodations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Brighton. As part of its growth strategy, OYO is also preparing to introduce several of its popular European brands to the UK market.

The investment announcement coincided with Nasscom’s delegation to the UK, organised by the UK’s Department of Business and Trade. This follows OYO’s acquisition of G6 Hospitality in December 2024 from Blackstone Real Estate for $525 million, adding around 1,500 franchised hotels across the US and Canada to its portfolio.

The IPO-bound company, expected to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in Q1 FY26, reported its first-ever net profit of Rs 2.29 billion in FY24, with adjusted EBITDA surging 215% to Rs 8.77 billion from Rs 2.77 billion in FY23.
