Orders issued to raze 191 illegal buildings in Bhubaneswar


The Odisha government has issued orders to demolish 191 illegal apartments and buildings in Bhubaneswar, the Housing and Urban Development Minister, Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, informed the assembly.

In a written response to BJD legislator Ranendra Pratap Swain, Mohapatra stated that a total of 491 cases had been registered against apartments and buildings allegedly constructed illegally within the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) area.

Demolition orders have been issued for 191 cases, 63 cases have been dropped, and the remaining 237 cases are currently under trial.

Additionally, he mentioned that 1,444 cases had been registered against illegal constructions within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area, of which 451 cases have been resolved, while 993 cases are still under trial.
