OPS urges govt to hasten Chennai road construction


O Panneerselvam, Former AIADMK coordinator, has called on the Tamil Nadu government to accelerate the road construction in Chennai, which is causing significant inconvenience to the general public. In a statement on Monday, he emphasised the importance of well-maintained roads for the state's development, expressing concern over the presence of potholes and damages on numerous roads in Chennai and its suburbs. He also highlighted the practice of digging up existing roads for laying new ones.

OPS stressed the need to ensure contractors have an adequate workforce when awarding contracts. He further asserted that expediting road work is essential for the public's welfare. Meanwhile, G K Vasan, President, TMC, stated that the NH 205, connecting Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and used by many commuters travelLing to Tirupati daily, should be upgraded to a four-lane road.
