NTPC Floats Tenders for 4 MW Solar Projects at DRDO Delhi


NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has issued tenders for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 4 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power projects at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) campuses in Delhi and Bengaluru. 

The tender for DRDO Delhi is for a 1.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project. Bids must be submitted by February 18, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 19. Bidders must furnish a bid security. 
The tender for DRDO Bengaluru is for a 2.7 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project. Bids must be submitted by February 18, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 19. The scope of work for both projects include design, engineering, supply, civil construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and grid interfacing. 

Selected bidders must also secure approvals from distribution licensees and the chief electrical inspector for connecting the project to existing electrical loads. They must also install suitable solar module cleaning systems and remote monitoring systems for performance tracking. 

Successful bidders must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers Bidders must stipulate eligibility for Class-I and Class-II local suppliers per the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017, issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. 

In November 2024, NVVN invited bids for grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 7.2 MW in 26 buildings under Assam Rifles in Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam. In October 2024, NVVN invited bids to develop 4.73 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems at various locations under the Bhakra Beas Management Board.
