NHAI Faces Land Acquisition Hurdles for Rs 400 billion Road Projects
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is grappling with delays in land acquisition, stalling over 42 road projects worth more than Rs 400 billion. Despite receiving Letters of Award nearly a year ago, these projects have yet to reach their appointed dates, delaying the commencement of work.
The holdup poses a significant challenge to the government’s infrastructure development goals and threatens to impact the execution of road projects in fiscal 2025. Developers are also facing financial strain as the delays weigh on their profitability, creating further complications for the sector.
