NCRTC Completes Key Bridges for Anand Vihar RRTS Station

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced the completion of three crucial bridges over the Ghazipur drain, marking significant progress in the multimodal integration at the Anand Vihar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) station. This development is a vital component of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, with the integration work at Anand Vihar station nearing its final stages.

The newly completed bridges are essential for connecting the Anand Vihar RRTS station to the main road and the Anand Vihar Metro station. This connection provides passengers with direct access to multiple modes of transport, significantly enhancing the overall travel experience. The bridges, designed for specific functions, include entry and exit for vehicles and a pedestrian pathway. Their dimensions are 10 meters wide by 28 meters long, 13 meters wide by 28 meters long, and 5 meters wide by 25 meters long, respectively.

Officials have confirmed that the Anand Vihar RRTS station, now connected at the concourse level to the Blue and Pink Lines of the Anand Vihar Metro station, is set to provide seamless connectivity. Flooring and finishing work is being undertaken to ensure smooth passenger flow between the two stations. Additionally, escalators and lifts have been installed, prioritizing convenience and accessibility for all passengers, including the elderly, women, and children.

These new bridges over the Ghazipur drain are part of a comprehensive plan to ensure efficient and hassle-free transit for passengers. The finishing touches include building side walls and preparing the bridges for carpeting. Once operational, the Anand Vihar RRTS station will allow passengers to effortlessly move between the metro station, Anand Vihar Railway Station, Anand Vihar ISBT, Kaushambi bus terminal, and the DTC intra-state bus terminal.

Despite construction challenges, the underground Anand Vihar RRTS station, measuring 297 meters in length and 35 meters in width, has been completed with significant engineering expertise. This development underscores NCRTC's commitment to enhancing urban connectivity and providing a superior travel experience for passengers on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor.
