The company told the media that Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL) collaborated with the board of Madhya Pradesh Tourism on Wednesday through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

P K Sinha, NCL CMD, confirmed his commitment to the sustainable development of the Singrauli region with a steady coal supply to the nation and expressed his full support to the tourism of MP to cultivate the Singrauli eco-tourism circuit, which is going to be a significant milestone in the upliftment of the far eastern district of the state.

A fresh tourism circuit in Madhya Pradesh will be explored through this initiative, having wildlife, adventure, beauty mining and cultural heritage.

It will also promote mine tourism, demanding the importance of Singrauli as the Energy Capital of India. NCL-IIT (BHU) Incubation Centre will enable information gathering, research, design and operate the tour plans for incoming tourists.

The objective of this MoU is to bridge and sustain the cultural heritage of the Singrauli region with a commitment to energise the nation.

NCL functions with ten highly mechanised opencast coal mines, consequently producing over 115 million tonnes of coal annually, contributing 10% to the energy of the country.

The company plays an essential role in the socio-economic lives of the people of the Singrauli region.

Singrauli district has a massive operation of coal mining, large scale thermal and hydropower plants, which play a crucial role in energising the country's economy with rich flora, fauna and cultural heritage.
