Navi Mumbai Metro phase 1 gets nod from telecommunications dept
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued the Dynamic Clearance Certificate for phase 1 from Belapur to Pendhar, bringing the Navi Mumbai Metro one step closer to reality.
This approval is a crucial step toward opening the metro line to the public. According to City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) officials, the Central Ministry of Telecommunications approved phase 1 from Belapur to Pendhar on September 24. The next step is to obtain a certificate of independent signalling assessment. On September 14, the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) completed an oscillation trial for which the CIDCO is still waiting for approval. The commissioner of railways safety Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) can begin the oscillation trial once the RDSO has cleared it. The dynamic Clearance of the Department of Telecom and Safety Case Certificate has marked an important milestone for the Navi Mumbai Metro project, according to Sanjay Mukherjee, vice chairman and managing director of CIDCO. The International Society of Automation (ISA) certification will be the next step. He also mentioned that CMRS trials can begin after receiving the RDSO certificate.
