National Workshop on SDG Progress and Reporting Held in Bhubaneswar


The National Workshop on Fast-Tracking and Reporting of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the State Support Mission (SSM), organised by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the Government of Odisha and UNDP, concluded in Bhubaneswar. 

The event brought together senior officials from 25 States and Union Territories, representatives from key central ministries, UN agencies (UNDP, GIZ, UN-Habitat), academia, and civil society organisations. Key discussions focused on SDG localisation, financing, and India's Voluntary National Review (VNR) 2025. 

Inaugurating the workshop, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman K. Bery emphasised a data-driven, multi-stakeholder approach to strengthen governance and mobilise sustainable finance. CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam highlighted India’s SDG progress, urging states to leverage peer learning for greater impact. Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja underscored the role of accurate data in driving SDG advancements. 

The workshop highlighted the importance of SDG Coordination and Acceleration Centres in aligning schemes, leveraging data, and addressing financing gaps to drive sustainable development. The discussions reinforced India’s commitment to Agenda 2030, promoting cooperative federalism and state-led interventions for achieving SDG targets.
