Mumbai's Upcoming Infrastructure Projects Set for Transformation
Mumbai is on the brink of a significant transformation over the next nine months, spearheaded by the opening of the Metro 3 underground line. This project aims to alleviate the city’s chronic traffic congestion and relieve pressure on the already burdened suburban railway system. In addition, the Navi Mumbai airport's first terminal is poised to address airport capacity issues, while the completion of the missing link on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will drastically reduce travel time between the two cities.
Key Projects Scheduled for Completion New Vashi Creek Bridge - September
A six-lane bridge expanding capacity to 12 lanes. Benefit: Eliminates traffic bottlenecks, enhancing flow between Vashi and surrounding areas. Metro 3, Phase I - October
Connecting Aarey to BKC with 10 stations, including links to major airports. Stations: Aarey Colony, Seepz, MIDC, Marol Naka, T2, Sahar Road, T1, Santacruz, Vidyanagar, BKC. Full Coastal Road - December
Completing the northward arm will facilitate signal-free traffic from Marine Drive to T2 via Bandra. Future Openings New Vashi Creek Bridge, Full Opening - February 2025
