Mumbai Metro-3 Enters Final Testing Phase, Phase 1 Operational by July-August

MUMBAI: Mumbai Metro Line-3, also known as the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ corridor, has entered its final phase of testing, marking a significant step towards its operational launch. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) announced that Phase 1 of the project is slated to commence operations by either July or mid-August this year.

The metro corridor, stretching from Colaba in South Mumbai to SEEPZ in the city's north-eastern suburbs, has undergone extensive construction and testing phases over the past years. The final stage of testing includes comprehensive checks on the signalling, rolling stock, and operational readiness of the entire route.

Once operational, Mumbai Metro-3 is expected to ease traffic congestion significantly along its route, providing a faster and more efficient commute option for thousands of daily passengers. It is also anticipated to contribute to the city's efforts in reducing vehicular pollution and promoting sustainable urban transport solutions.

MMRC officials expressed confidence in meeting the operational timeline, highlighting the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders and construction teams involved in the project. The metro line is set to become a crucial artery in Mumbai's public transport network, connecting key business districts, residential areas, and educational institutions.

With the final testing phase underway, Mumbai residents await the eagerly awaited launch of Metro-3, poised to redefine urban mobility in the bustling metropolis.
