Minority Affairs Minister to Launch PM VIKAS Project via DGSMC
On 29th March 2025, the Ministry of Minority Affairs will launch a new program under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme, aimed at enhancing skill development and educational support for minority communities. The initiative, which will be implemented by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), will benefit a total of 31,600 candidates across the country.
Out of the total beneficiaries, 29,600 individuals will receive skill training in industry-relevant fields, while 2,000 candidates will receive educational support. The training will focus on job roles aligned with emerging industry demands, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Scientist, Telecom Technician (5G), Technical Artist (AR-VR), Graphic Designer, and Solar PV Installer, among others. These roles have been selected to equip participants with skills that are in high demand in the modern workforce.
The program also includes provisions for employment assistance, ensuring that candidates who complete the training are provided with job opportunities. Additionally, all participants enrolled in the training component of the program will receive a monthly stipend from the Ministry of Minority Affairs during the course of their training.
This initiative reflects the Government of India’s on-going efforts to promote inclusive economic growth through skill development and education. By partnering with institutions like DSGMC, the government aims to empower youth from minority communities and enhance their employability in the evolving job market. The project also underscores DSGMC's continued commitment to community upliftment through vocational and educational initiatives.
