The Namo Bharat train service, which currently operates up to Bhudbaral (Meerut South), is set to extend to Shatabdi Nagar and Meerut Central Station. This expansion will enhance intra-city connectivity and streamline daily commutes. The extended service is expected to begin in early April, coinciding with a formal inauguration ceremony.

Construction on the Meerut segment of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor has advanced significantly, with most civil work nearing completion. Trial runs for both the Namo Bharat and Metro train racks are already in progress along the Meerut South to Shatabdi Nagar route.

The long-awaited Ring Road project, designed to alleviate traffic congestion, is set to progress with land acquisition expected to commence shortly. This road will link Hapur Road to the Delhi-Doon bypass via Jhurranpur and Delhi Road. The government has allocated Rs 600 million for the project, while the Meerut Development Authority (MEDA) has contributed an additional Rs 1 billion from its infrastructure fund.

A total of Rs 1.62 billion has been earmarked for land acquisition, with the Public Works Department (PWD) receiving Rs 100 million to initiate road construction. The project will be executed in two phases.

Work on the 594 km-long Ganga Expressway, which connects Meerut to Prayagraj, is progressing under the supervision of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). Although initial timelines were delayed due to environmental considerations, the project is now in its final stages.

The first phase, covering 130 km from Meerut to Badaun, is expected to be operational by May. Over 80 per cent of the construction, including flyovers, underpasses, and a key bridge over the Ganga River at Garh Mukteshwar, has been completed.
