Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to seek his intervention in expediting the completion of the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road, particularly focusing on the Adampur flyover. Accompanied by Jalandhar's Lok Sabha MP, Sushil Kumar Rinku, the chief minister highlighted the project's prolonged delays, causing inconvenience to the public. The meeting took place at Gadkari's residence, where Mann apprised him of the situation.

Assuring Mann, Gadkari personally assured him that the project would be completed expeditiously, and he would oversee the progress of the work. The Punjab government released a statement acknowledging Gadkari's commitment. Additionally, the discussion encompassed the advancement of construction on the Delhi-Katra expressway, which would significantly contribute to the state's economy. Both parties agreed on the importance of fast-tracking the project, which would serve as a blessing for pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine while stimulating economic activity in the region.

During the meeting, Mann informed Gadkari about the Punjab government's plans to establish a Road Security Force to combat road accidents effectively. The chief minister also raised concerns about the "high-handedness" of toll plazas on national highways, urging Gadkari to prevent them from charging exorbitant amounts from the public, emphasising the need for fair practices.
