Manipur Distributes Waste Management Machinery to Urban Local Bodies


The Manipur Urban Development Agency (MUDA) has distributed waste management machinery to 10 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. The handover event was held today at the City Convention Centre.

Principal Secretary of MAHUD, Shri RK Dinesh Singh, officially handed over equipment such as Trommels, Conveyor Belts, Vegetable Shredders, and Fatka machines.

MAHUD Director and Secretary MUDA, Shri Ngangom Uttam, mentioned that towns like Mayang Imphal will operate under a cluster system for sustainability, while six municipalities in the Thoubal region will function independently.

The initiative, funded at Rs 23.5 million, aims to enhance waste processing through Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), promoting improved urban cleanliness and sustainability across Manipur.
